Conway teen makes plans to show at the World Dairy Expo

A Laclede County senior didn’t stop believing in her Guernsey dairy cow, leading her to the FFA, Supreme, and Open show championships at the Missouri State Fair over the weekend. Whitney Yerina (yur-EE-nah) claimed top honors Sunday with her cow Journey, and also finished first in the FFA Showmanship contest. Yerina says she knew Journey would be the one to lead her to the top prize.

Journey finished second at last year’s fair. Yerina explains what the two improved on over the past year.

Yerina plans to bring Journey to the World Dairy Expo in Wisconsin and the North American International Livestock Expo in Louisville. Before then, Yerina will begin her senior year at Conway High School as her chapter’s FFA President
