Conway teen dies in Green County car accident

A 19-year-old Conway man died in a single-car accident at 1:45 Wednesday afternoon, on Farm Road 102, one mile north of Springfield in Greene county. The Missouri Highway Patrol says Kelly L. Hargis was traveling around a curve, when he swerved to the left to avoid a vehicle partially stopped in the roadway, Hargis traveled off the left side of the road, striking a tree and utility pole. A 16-year-old passenger in the vehicle was uninjured in the accident. Neither occupant of the car was wearing a seatbelt.
