Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler, was one of 4 lawmakers from Missouri who voted against the $2,000 coronavirus relief bill
Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler, who was one of 4 lawmakers from Missouri who voted against the CASH Act. Hartzler issued a statement about her vote, saying a coronavirus relief bill should be directed to helping those who have been negatively impacted by the virus. The bill passed last week accomplishes this by helping struggling businesses, families, and individuals without work due to the pandemic. It also sends $600 to every person in a household who makes under $75,000 whether or not they have been impacted by the virus. Hartzler went on to say “this was a reasonable compromise. Increasing these across the board payments to $2000 without even having to demonstrate a need would further America’s out of control debt. With a debt of $27 trillion, our focus should remain on getting people back to work and defeating the virus.” Other Missouri lawmakers who voted against the Cash Act were Representative Bill Long, Sam Graves, and Blaine Leutkemeyer. The 4 other Missouri U.S. Representatives voted in favor of the bill. The Cash Act passed 275 to 134.
