Some parents have recently found themselves in trouble when their child hasn’t attended school for the required number of days in a school year. Lebanon R-3 Superintendent David Schmitz tells us that Missouri has compulsory attendance laws….

Dr Schmitz said right now student attendance is at around 94 percent, which is down a full percent from last year. A violation of the compulsory attendance law in Missouri is a class C misdemeanor. If a child is homeschooled in Missouri, there is a requirement of 600 hours of instruction per year.
