Community Salute to Service
(Waynesville)–The Waynesville School District will host its Second Annual Community Salute to Service Thursday, April 23rd, at 6:30 p-m, in the Waynesville High School gym to recognize students from area high schools who are going to serve in the military following graduation. The keynote speaker will be Major, General Donna Martin, commanding general of the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood. During the event, students from area high schools will be recognized for joining the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, Reserves, Reserve Officer Training Corps, or who have received an appointment to a military academy. The Community Salute to Service will be free and open to the public. Last year, about 800 people attended the event.
