Commissioner Angst on MAC Prevailing Wage resolution

The Missouri Association of Counties has approved a resolution in support of a repeal of the prevailing wage law in Missouri. The resolution states that local contractors may not be able to bid on public work projects in their area because of the prevailing wage law. Laclede County Presiding Commissioner Randy Angst said a repeal would also provide cost savings to local government….
It’s the belief of the Missouri Association of Counties that the prevailing wage law leads to a lack of competitiveness in the bidding process, which drives up the costs of projects.
