Codey Gene Crain, a lifetime resident of Morrisville, Missouri, passed away on September 9, 2024. He was born on March 16, 1985, to Kelly and Lois Crain in Springfield, Missouri.
Codey graduated from Marion C. Early High School and continued his education at auctioneer school. He began his professional career at Springfield Livestock Marketing Center. He was saved and baptized in his youth at Eudora Baptist Church, a testament to his faith and commitment to his community.
In 2014, Codey began dating Bailey, and they were united in marriage on April 13, 2019. They shared a loving family with their three beautiful children: Brailey, Kailey, and Kelly Cash.
Codey spent much of his free time working on the family farm with his son Cash by his side. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing, farming, and driving his children around on the razor. He and his wife Bailey loved taking trips together, whether it was traveling to Mexico or enjoying horse races with friends.
Known for his generous spirit and a heart of gold, Codey would go out of his way to help anyone in need. He cherished his family and friends and enjoyed every moment spent with them. His infectious energy made him the life of the party, always ready for a good time.
Codey is survived by his wife, Bailey Crain, and his children, Brailey, Kailey, and Kelly Cash Crain. He is also survived by his parents, Kelly and Lois Crain; his siblings, Shelly Davis and her husband Sean, along with their children Bryce and Reese Davis, and Jay Crain and his wife Callie, along with their children Carlie (and her husband Wyatt Kanan), Camden, and Colby Case Crain.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Coney and Vera Crain, his grandmother Aline Balcom, and his maternal grandparents Gene and Flora Presley.
Codey will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, kindness, and a zest for life will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Visitation will be held for Codey on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, starting at 10:00 A.M. Following the visitation, will be a graveside service at the Morrisville Cemetery at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a scholarship fund being set up for Codey’s children.
