The Missouri Department of Conservation is working to remove storm debris from several conservation areas after the Maries County tornado on Saturday.
The department is warning visitors to look out for storm damage at Spring Creek Gap and Cliffty Creek Conservation areas north of Dixon this week.
Strong storms, high winds, and hail moved throughout the county over the weekend, which caused trees and tree limbs to fall. Especially hard hit were locations in the Vichy area.
The conservation department is working to remove debris from trails and parking lots, but visitors should also look out for blockages, as the areas will remain open during the cleanup.
If visitors to Cliffty Creek and Stone Creek Gap come across debris, the Missouri Department of Conservations urges them to call the Central Regional Office at 573-815-7900 to report the damage.
