City Council Approves Payments To Some Boards

After years of serving in a voluntary position, members of the Lebanon Zoning and Planning Commission will now be compensated $100 per month. That comes after approval of a bill and code amendment by Lebanon City Council on Monday night… City Administrator Mike Schumacher said new ordinances also allows the Board of Public Works to also be compensated….

The bill was approved unanimously 7 to zero. During the meeting Council also considered approval of a long term agreement between the City and Laclede County Collector Toni Morris….

As to what the City will be paying, the percentage for the Collector went from 1 1/4% to 2%, County Commission from 1 1/4% to 3.5%, collection of back taxes remains at 7%. Schumacher said with the agreement in place residents of Lebanon will only have one location to go to pay their annual tax levy bills. The agreement will remain in place as long as Toni Morris is County Collector.
In other business, City Council consider leasing offices at the Cowan Civic Center to the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce….

The two office spaces will be leased to the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce for $1 per month. The lease was approved by City Council 7 to zero.
Council also approved an agreement between the City and Laclede Industries for $8-thousand to support the effort to provide recycling services to residents of Lebanon and the surrounding area. On the consent agenda, Council Appointed Mark Campbell to the Library Board.
