Next Wednesday launches a month of holiday events and celebrations in the Fort Leonard Wood area. Christmas on the Square in Downtown Waynesville starts things off with a full evening of sights, sounds, holiday lights, live nativity, and family fun. The event will take place from 6 to 9 o’clock that evening. There will be free food and beverages, holiday vendors, and pictures with Santa and the Grinch. The Buckhorn-Laquey Christmas Parade and Bazaar will take place Saturday, December 4th. The bazaar will be held in the elementary school gym while the parade will start at 10 a-m at the junction of Highways Double-A and P. The next day will see the Kiwanis Club Christmas Parade traveling the city route from the Middle School to the Waynesville Downtown Square from 2 to 3:30 in the afternoon. The theme of this year’s parade is “Christmas at Our House.” St. Robert’s annual Christmas in the Park after the parade that afternoon will not be held this year. The traditional installation tree lighting ceremony at Fort Leonard Wood will take place Tuesday, December 7th, at 5:30 p-m, at Joint Services Park on the post.
