Child abuse trial moved to Laclede County

The trial of a man from Eldon has been moved to Laclede County on a change of venue order from Miller County. The investigation began in January when a child showed up to school with bruises and marks on her face and neck. During an interview with the child it was alleged that 30 year old Brandon Mundy had punched the child with his fist and choked her after becoming angry while she was getting ready for school. Officers interviewed Mundy and was told that he had accidentially hit the child with his elbow and fell on her, causing the injuries. Mundy is charged with domestic assault and child abuse. His trial is set to take place in Laclede County in March 2024.
