Charter schools could expand in Missouri. The state Senate Education and Workforce Development committee is reviewing a bill sponsored by state Senator Bill Eigel. He says Senate Bill 304 looks to offer additional choice to parents and greater accountability to school districts…

During a committee hearing on the bill, those who testified in support of the bill say that parents are the best stewards of their child’s education, in addition to the idea that more options are being provided for children. Those against point to the number of Missouri charter schools that have closed. A vote has not been taken on the bill.
