A man from California was arrested in Laclede County in connection with a shooting on Ripley Drive on Wednesday. Laclede County Deputies responded to a call from Ricardo Quiroz Lopez who said that he had shot the victim. When they arrived officers found the victim lying at the top of the stairs with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim told authorities that he was in the house where he lived with his ex-girlfriend up until about two weeks ago, and he was there recording his property that was still in the house, in case it was damaged. During questioning, Lopez told officers that he received a frantic call from the ex-girlfriend who said the other man was in the house and wouldn’t leave. He also said when he arrived the woman was holding the victim at gunpoint, so he took the gun from her and ordered the shooting victim to leave. According to the report, about 30 seconds later he fired shots at the victim hitting him in the leg. Lopez is charged with assault in the first degree and armed criminal action.
