Charges Filed In Camden County Assault

A man from Lake Ozark in Camden County is facing first-degree assault charges, as outlined in court documents. On August 7 at 2:16 am, deputies from Camden County responded to an incident at a residence in the county. According to accounts from individuals present, a friend had been attacked by a group of men.

A witness recounted that they had been at a lake house in Sunrise Beach earlier, where a confrontation had occurred between their group and another set of men. Upon returning to their residence in Ubers, they noticed they were being followed by a gray truck and another car. Upon arriving, several men emerged from these vehicles before they could react. Their group hurried inside, not realizing their friend was still outside with the men.

Reviewing surveillance footage of the assault, deputies observed the victim being left outside with nine men. Based on a distinctive tattoo on the right side of his back, one of the men was identified as 24-year-old Aaron Gonzales; according to the footage, Gonzales grabbed the victim in a bear hug and brought him to the ground. Another man then kicked the victim in the head, rendering him unconscious.

Gonzales continued to strike the unconscious victim’s head multiple times while another man intervened and pulled him away. The surveillance video also showed that five of the nine men kicked, stomped, punched, and slapped the victim while unconscious.

With the assistance of the Lake Ozark police, Gonzales was apprehended on August 14 at 9:58 pm. He now faces charges of first-degree assault.
