Change of venue granted for former Texas County Sheriff and Chief Deputy

Former Texas County Sheriff, James L. Sigman and his chief deputy, Jennifer H. Tomaszewski, who he was in a relationship with, were granted a change of venue for their respective trials for a number of charges. Both Sigman and Tomaszewski have trial dates scheduled for April 22 in Pulaski County, a change of venue from Texas County.  Online court records show the prosecutor has filed 10 charges against Sigman and 8 against Tomaszewski. Both Sigman and Tomaszewski were being held on $500,000 surety bonds. On July 24, 2019, Tomaszewski posted her bond and Sigman’s bond was posted just two days later. A July 2018 probable cause document detailed abuse of power and negligence by both Sigman and Tomaszewski.
