Celebrating Missouri Statehood

Tuesday, August 10th, Missouri Statehood Day, marks 200 years since Missouri became the 24th state to enter the union. According to the Missouri Centennial Commission, more than 200 bicentennial events are taking place this year across the state, with major events taking place this month. During a visit to Lebanon, Missouri Governor Mike Parson reminded us of the importance of our history….

While celebration events are being held across the state, a special public event will be held on the south lawn of the Missouri State Capitol on August 10th beginning at 9am. Along with Governor Parson, past governors and other dignitaries will be there to recognize 200 years of statehood. The celebration at the Capitol will be live-streamed on Missouri2021.org for those who wish to attend virtually or view it later.
