An event to honor Laclede County’s Emergency Responders is taking place on Thursday August 20th. The event is to salute the men and women on the front lines of the community. Tea Party Chairwoman Karen Nixon is one of the organizers of the event.

The salute will include certificates of appreciation, gifts or gift cards for each department and a drawing. Representatives of Lebanon and Laclede County Law Enforcement and First Responders have been invited, and the public is encouraged to attend. The doors open at 6pm with the program beginning at 6:30pm, at the Wallace Building on Harwood Avenue. Masks and hand sanitizer will be provided by the Office of Emergency Management. State Representative Jeff Knight will be the guest speaker. Nixon said this is not a political event, it’s just a way to express community appreciation.
