CBCO Planting Trees in Donors Name

The Community Blood Center is helping save lives, and the environment with its new campaign. Michelle Teter with CBCO says they will plant a tree for every donation they receive, up to 5,000 trees.

This tree planting and other efforts by CBCO are planned to offset a significant amount of carbon dioxide, equivalent to over 35,000 gallons of gasoline, 350,000 pounds of coal burned, or 38.5 million smartphones charged. Though all blood types are needed, Teter adds one type is in high demand.

Though walk-ins are welcome at the Community Blood Center, donors are encouraged to make an appointment through the app or website, cbco.org
