Another Missouri legislative session is scheduled to end next Friday – quite possibly without legalizing sports betting. St. Louis Cardinals President Bill DeWitt, the Third, says he is taking a “serious look” at putting a sports betting ballot measure before Missouri voters in 2024.

DeWitt says he’s frustrated that Warrensburg State Senator Denny Hoskins has threatened to block a vote on the bill. Hoskins wants to include regulations for video lottery machines that are found in gas stations, bars, and restaurants, but that is a deal breaker for the bill sponsor, state Representative Dan Houx.
