Car Chase Arrest

A car chase that started in Greene County, traveling along I-44 into Webster County, led to the arrest of a Springfield woman. A Webster County Deputy picked up the chase of the stolen which was traveling at speeds of more than 115 miles per hour, following it into Marshfield, and then on to Highway CC, and eventually stopping on a dead-end road. The driver of the car, Jennifer Ortega jumped out of the car and ran into the woods. The deputy reported that Ortega was ordered to stop running, but refused, and a taser was deployed, and Ortega was taken into custody. A search turned up drug paraphernalia including syringes, and pipes, and baggies with meth residue. Ortega is charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, tampering with a motor vehicle, and resisting arrest. Her bond was set at $100-thousand-dollars cash or surety.
