Candidates file for August Primary starting Tuesday

Tomorrow(tues) is the first day of candidate filing for the August 4th Primary. Laclede County Clerk Linda Cansler said there will be several county seats open for filing..

Democrats who are filing, will submit their fee to the Democratic Central Committee, and Republicans will submit their fee to the Republican Committee or at the County Clerks Office. Proof of paid filing fee’s will be submitted to the County Clerk, along with proof that all taxes are paid. Candidates for U.S. and state offices, along with some judges, are required to file in person at the Secretary of State‚Äôs office at 600 W. Main St. in Jefferson City. At the state level and in Laclede County, candidates who file on the first day will be given a random number to determine the order their name appears on the ballot. The last day to file for the August Primary is March 31st.
