Camdenton Officer-Involved Shooting Update

A woman is recovering in a local hospital after being shot by Camdenton police on Sunday night. Officers were originally dispatched to a disturbance at a local restaurant. Two of the parties involved in that disturbance were wearing military-style clothing and wearing guns on their belts. A short time after the initial disturbance, officers located a male and a female matching their description at the intersection of Osage and Iowa. As officers were attempting to take the male into custody, the female raised a handgun and began to point it at the officers. An officer shot the woman, who is listed in stable condition at a hospital. One officer was later treated for a possible shoulder injury. The investigation of the shooting has been turned over to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The officer who shot the woman has been placed on administrative leave pending the completion of the investigation.
