Camdenton Man Sentenced For Fatal D.W.I. Crash

A 28-year-old Camdenton man with a long criminal record was sentenced yesterday by Circuit Judge Matthew Phillip Hamner to nine years in prison following his guilty plea for driving while intoxicated, causing a fatal accident nearly two years ago.

During his pre-trial hearing on Wednesday, Brandon C. Broswell admitted to driving under the influence, leading to the death of another individual. The incident occurred in January of 2022 on Route TT, where Broswell veered off the road and collided with a tree. The crash claimed the life of his passenger, 36-year-old John Johnston, from Sunrise Beach. Broswell sustained serious injuries in the crash.
