Camdenton Man Held In Monday Night Shooting
The Camdenton Police Department has provided additional details following an incident involving a shooting on Monday evening.
According to the statement issued, authorities responded to a call at 6:54 pm in the 100 block of Lakeview Drive regarding a man who had been shot.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a 21-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound to his chest.
The victim recounted that he and his girlfriend were walking along the street when they narrowly avoided being struck by a dark-colored vehicle.
An altercation ensued between the victim and the driver, culminating in the driver shooting him in the chest.
The victim and his girlfriend asserted they were unfamiliar with the assailant.
A resident a few blocks away provided crucial information to the police, leading them to the residence of a cab driver.
39-year-old Aaron Michael Ethridge was subsequently apprehended by officers without resistance and transported to Camden County jail.
Ethridge faces charges including Assault, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, as filed by Camden County prosecutors. No court date has been set.
The victim of the shooting was treated at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
