39 Missouri libraries were recently awarded more than $870-thousand-dollars through the Missouri State Library to help residents access high-speed internet for telehealth and distance learning in response to COVID-19. Among those receiving funding is the Camden County Library, which will receive $97-hundred-67-dollars. Camden County Library will offer up to 8 laptops for a new lending program, 8 public access points, and 1 hotspot. Library District Director Michael Davis said this will allow them to add to their lending program…

Davis says the new items will be in addition to the electronic media that they already have in place for their lending program.
Polk County Library is set to use the funding for increasing library bandwidth and WiFi access points with just over $6-thousand-dollars. Rolla Public Library will receive over $25-thousand-dollars, which will be used for 10 hotspots and 40 devices for their lending program. The funds from this program will be used to establish hotspot lending programs, Wi-Fi capable laptops for patron checkout, and expanding bandwidth at libraries to accommodate additional network demands.
