Camden County Couple Charged After Death Investigation
A couple from Camden County have been charged after a death investigation involving an overdose in Montreal.
Members of the Camden County Sheriff’s Office responded to a death on South State Highway 7 on Jan. 19.
Authorities say the victim’s son is accused of supplying his parent with a controlled substance that he created with other illegal ingredients.
Deputies say the substance is “believed to be the cause of death.”
Camden County authorities arrested the victim’s 24-year-old son, Dereck Beck, and Beck’s 23-year-old girlfriend, Morgan Walters.
Beck and Walters, both of Camdenton, are charged with 1st Degree Involuntary Manslaughter.
He is being held on a $100,000 surety bond.
Walters is being held on a $30,000 surety bond.
