Camdenton Police officers who were conducting business checks on North Highway 5 on Sunday morning ended up arresting a man on multiple charges. According to the report, the officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer followed the vehicle and it pulled over on Foxdale and two men got out. One of the men was identified as Steve Montgomery who was allegedly acting very nervous, trying to put his hands in his pockets, and attempting to get back in the car. He was then taken into custody for not having a valid license. He was searched and the officer seized drug paraphernalia that tested positive for methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana. He was also allegedly in possession of empty baggies and hypodermic needles. Steve Montgomery has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, with a bond of $50-thousand-dollars.

 

A Camdenton man is facing a long list of charges after he attempted to elude arrest by driving at a high rate of speed on Friday. According to the report from a Camden County Deputy, he was on patrol and observed a vehicle with no license plate lamp. The deputy attempted to catch up with the vehicle but it drove away at a high rate of speed. He eventually caught up with the vehicle at a residence near Dodds Camp Road. The driver, identified as Jason Cook, told the officer he didn’t have a license, and also told the officer that he had warrants for his arrest. He was taken into custody, and when the officer searched him he located a syringe that tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine and brass knuckles. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of an illegal weapon, Operating a Vehicle Without a Valid License, Resisting/Interfering With Arrest, and failed equipment. Cook is being held without bond.
