Visitors to this year’s Bikefest at Lake of the Ozarks said they did not see any gang colors or violence at the event.

This year’s Bikefest comes a little over two months after a fatal shooting on the Bagnell Dam Strip that officials say was motorcycle gang-related. The shooting occurred, July 15th near Casablanca, a bar and restaurant on the strip. A message Casablanca posted on its Facebook page said that night was “bike night.”

But Bikes lined up and down the Strip on Bagnell Dam Boulevard over the weekend, which was closed off to most public access from cars and trucks. Bikefest officials estimate more than 100,000 visitors attended this year’s event.

Lake Ozark city officials had voted to close down the street for the five days of Bikefest, the first time such action had occurred.
