An investigation into reports of stealing and burglary, led to the arrest of a 27 year old Lebanon man. A Lebanon Police officer was patrolling on Cornelison Street when he noticed 27 year old Christopher Charles Kern standing near a vehicle that was registered to someone else. Kern was found to have a warrant for his arrest for Parole Violation, and 4 other warrants from Laclede County. Police say that Kern ran away and the officer chased him through several back yards, as he was climbing fences, and hiding in the brush. When an officer finally took him into custody, Kern was searched and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, syringes, a burglary kit, and a knife. When the officer searched the vehicle, several items which were confirmed to be connected to a burglary, were found. Kern is charged with 2 counts of stealing, felony possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and possession of burglary tools. He is being held without bond, with a bond hearing set for February 19th.
