Buffalo Woman Dead Following Wednesday Morning Accident

A 68-year-old Buffalo woman is dead following a two-vehicle accident at 11:40 Wednesday morning on Highway 65, a half mile north of Buffalo. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports that a car driven by Belva Skinner of Buffalo swerved to avoid a branch in the road, skidded across the center of the road, and struck a vehicle driven by 47-year-old Melinda J. Walton of Springfield. Skinner was pronounced deceased at the scene. Walton suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Two juvenile passengers in Walton’s vehicle also suffered moderate injuries and were taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
