Budget Host Inn Could be Converted to multi-family housing

The Lebanon Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on Thursday night on a declaration of blight 271 West Elm which is Budget Host Inn. The motel has been closed for some time after failing inspections and is now owned by The Dels Corporation. According to state statute, if approved for Chapter 353, part or all of the property taxes could be abated for up to 25 years. The request will now go to Lebanon City Council for final approval. In other business, Lebanon Planning and Zoning approved a conditional use permit for a short-term rental at 546 North Madison. Berkich said the property owner wants to convert the property to rent the house to short-term visitors. The Planning and Zoning Commission also approved the Final Plat of People Subdivision on Texas Avenue and the Final Plat of Visionary Air Subdivision on South Jefferson.
