Brigadier General Niave Knell, Fort Leonard Wood’s Commandant of the U. S. Army Military Police School, has a new assignment. She will become the first female deputy commanding general in the history of the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas. Her new assignment was announced by Army Chief of Staff General James Mc Conville. Before becoming the Military Police School commandant, Knell served as the Chief of Staff for the U.S. Army North at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas. A 30-year Army veteran, Knell is originally from Milford, Massachusetts.
