Bond Hearing Set for Norton in Rainwater Case

Dallas County Judge Lisa Henderson set a bond hearing for one of two men accused in the kidnapping of Cassidy Rainwater for this Friday at 9:30.

Henderson also granted a motion for a continuance in the case of Timothy Norton. Norton and his attorney did not appear at yesterday’s hearing. Henderson set Norton’s next court date for November 23 and he remains in jail without bond.

Norton and accomplice James Phelps are facing kidnapping charges in the Rainwater case. Authorities reported the woman missing in late July.

According to detectives, Rainwater had been staying with Phelps. Investigators say Phelps claims she had left in the middle of the night at the end of July and he had not seen her since then. Investigators say has not been seen since her disappearance.

Phelps returns to court on November 19. His attorneys requested and were granted a new judge in the case.
