Bomb Threat At Morgan County Middle School

A Morgan County school received a bomb threat, prompting swift action from law enforcement and school officials. Authorities in Versailles say they were made aware of the threat shortly after 7 a.m. on Thursday targeting the Morgan County R-2 Middle School. Following protocol, the school was evacuated. The Pettis County Sheriff’s Office deployed explosives trained K-9 units, but no explosive device was discovered.

Investigators managed to trace the origin of the threat to a specific phone number. Subsequently, officers located and confiscated the cell phone as evidence, identifying a person of interest in the process.

The investigation is continuing.
