Boat Parade Comes Up Short

They came from as far away as California, but the attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest boat parade over the weekend at Lake of the Ozarks came up short.

In all, 612 boaters were counted by parade judges on Saturday. The world record, set Sept. 13, 2014, in Malaysia for the Malaysia Day Celebrations, is 1,180.

Proceeds from the event will go to help celebrate 200 years of Missouri as a state, including a fireworks display at the lake later this year.
