In Columbia, a new building is named for Senator Roy Blunt, a tribute to the attention and funding he has given to health research while he has served in Congress.

The Roy Blunt NextGen Precision Health building will house a newer type of research – and National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins explained its meaning – to a crowd of a few hundred dignitaries and scientists who attended the grand opening Tuesday.

The research uses all of the UM campuses, private companies, and government funding and researchers to focus on an approach of “lab bench to bedside”
