Blue Alerts and You

A suspect is in custody for a Blue Alert Issued earlier this morning. But what exactly is a Blue Alert, and what should you do if one is issued in your highway patrol region? Seargent Mike Mitchell with Troop I explains.

Troop A issued a Blue Alert at 11:14 this morning, stating that an officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle, and the driver exited the vehicle and began firing at the officer causing severe injury. Sergeant Mitchell explains what to do if you have any information about a Blue Alert.
