Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, the sole supplier of blood and plasma to patients at 44 area healthcare facilities, needs blood for local use. The organization reports a less than a three-day supply of most blood types, including type O Negative. Blood drives around the CBCO service region serve a vital function in preserving the good health of our community.
CBCO donors provide all the blood for patients at Phelps Health in Rolla, as well as dozens of healthcare facilities across the Ozarks. Rolla area residents will have the opportunity to donate Wednesday, October 13th, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Ministry Center, 801 North Cedar Street in Rolla. Successful donors will receive a heather grey “Chiefs Kingdom” T-shirt with the familiar red and gold arrowhead logo. The shirt will identify you as a Chiefs fan and a proud blood donor. Appointments are strongly encouraged for this blood drive but are not necessary. Make an appointment to give at https://www.cbco.org/donate-blood/.
