Accidents can strike at any time that can cause severe injuries to yourself or others. Hospitals, in reaction to these accidents, lean on the donations of blood from everyday people. Many contributions begin to slow during the winter months. Joe Zydlo, with the American Red Cross, talks about why donations start to slow at the beginning of the year.

Zydlo also explains that they are in urgent need of every blood type.
