Any veteran who was discharged or released from service, other than dishonorable from any Armed Forces branch could be eligible for hunting and fishing permits free of charge for life under a proposed bill by Senator Rick Brattin. He tells a Senate Veterans Committee there’s an impact to helping vets enjoy the outdoors…

The Republican from Harrisonville says they still will have to purchase a tag for the specific species that they plan to hunt. Brattin says the positives of enacting this would outweigh the $3.3 million hit to the Missouri Department of Conservation. The committee has not taken up a vote on the bill yet.
