A boil water advisory in Belle has been extended until Friday for people living south of West 7th Street and south of Linn Avenue and Highway 28.

Belle Public Works Director Tony Baretich said the cause of the order is unusual. During a storm on September 4th, lightning struck a tree, ran down the trunk to the roots, and wrapped around the water main. He says they repaired 20 breaks in the line and replaced 40 feet of pipe.

The city is waiting for the system to flush out some more in anticipation of positive results Friday.
