As dates for the new school year are beginning to be announced, parents and caregivers are beginning to plan for back to school shopping. Typically the weekend of the gospel music sing would be a popular time for shopping, but this year the back to school sales tax holiday isn’t until next weekend. The Back to School Sales Tax Holiday gives those who are getting the kids ready for the next school year, a break in sales tax; and this year’s event is August 7th through the 9th. Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Darrell Pollock tells Regional Radio News that those who shop for certain back to school supplies in Lebanon won’t pay sales tax

The back to school sales tax holiday includes computers, not to exceed $15-hundred-dollars, also school supplies, and clothing. For a list of the exclusions go to the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce website.
