Back to School Sales Tax Holiday coming to Laclede County
The first weekend in August is a big shopping weekend for kids going back to school because the State of Missouri will exempt sales tax on back to school purchases. While back to school purchases will be exempt of state sales tax, many communities have chosen to exempt local sales tax too. Among the approved items is clothing with a taxable value of $100 or less, School supplies not to exceed $50 per purchase, Computer software with a taxable value of $350 or less, Personal computers and peripheral devices not to exceed $15-hundred each, graphing calculators not to exceed $150. The Missouri Back to School Sales Tax holiday will begin at 12:01 a.m. on the first Friday in August and ending at midnight on the Sunday following. Laclede County and the City of Lebanon is one of only a few combined city and county locations that will be participating in the Back to School Sales Tax Holiday, August 4th through the 6th.
