AUSA Call To Action For Fallen Helicopter Crash Victim

The AUSA Fort Leonard Wood Mid Missouri Chapter is reminding the public that the memorial service and burial for Chief Warrant Officer 2 Rusten Smith of Rolla will be this Saturday. Smith was one of two Missourians killed, along with seven others, when two Blackhawk helicopters from Fort Campbell, Kentucky, crashed during maneuvers on March 29th.
The AUSA is asking the public to show up along the funeral procession route to the Missouri Veterans Cemetery-Fort Leonard Wood Saturday afternoon around 2 o’ clock to wave flags and pay respect to this American Hero during his funeral procession to the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
The funeral procession will travel from Saint James High School to the veterans cemetery in Waynesville.
Ideas of where to park and assemble include overpasses on I-44 from St. James to Rolla to St. Robert and Waynesville, including the Missouri S-and-T Pedestrian Bridge in Rolla, the Freedom Rocks by Walmart in St. Robert, Waynesville High School, along Polla Road, and by the entrance to the Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
