A Hartshorn man is jailed in Texas County for an alleged kidnapping attempt. Texas County Deputies and the Highway Patrol responded to a business in the Hartshorn area, on Tuesday, where a boy claimed that he was approached by a man at the business who said he would trade the boy $40 for $20. The boy said the man offered a handshake and then grabbed his arm pulling him toward a vehicle. Another juvenile was present and helped pull the boy away from the suspect. 39-year-old Darryl F. Harris was detained by a Trooper with the Highway Patrol, and when deputies arrived they attempted to interview Harris but he refused to answer questions and cursed at the deputies. Harris was taken to the Texas County Jail and is charged with attempted stealing by physically taking and Kidnapping in the 3rd Degree. He is being held with a bond of $ 150 thousand dollars.
