3 men have been charged in connection with the 1989 murder of 25 year old Kelle Ann Workman. The Douglas County woman went missing in June 1989 while mowing at a cemetery. Workman’s body was found several miles away from the cemetary, 8 days later. This week, Bobby Lee Banks, Leonard Banks and Wiley Belt, all now in their 60’s, were indicted on charges of first degree murder, kidnapping and forcible rape. Authorities believe that 34 years ago, the 3 men abducted Workman, raped her and then killed her by hitting her with a blunt object. The men appeared in court on Wednesday (2/21/24) and pleaded not guilty. They are each being held with a bond of $250-thousand-dollars.
