Armed Robbery Suspect shoots self after standoff

The investigation into an Armed robbery at Gerbes Pharmacy on Sunday, led authorities to a suspect, who later shot himself. According to the Camdenton Police Department, community input led officers and the Missouri State Highway Patrol SWAT team, to the residence where they believed the suspect was located. The suspect barricaded himself in the house and a short time later officers heard a gunshot. When they went into the house they found the suspect with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to Lake Regional Hospital with serious injuries. The suspect’s truck was found at the residence and was seized. At last word, 28 year old Clayton Phillips was listed in critical condition at University of Missouri Hospital.
