Anne Lorene (Dotson) McPherson went to be with Jesus on Tuesday 21, 2024. She was born in Mount Judea, Arkansas on August 30, 1934, to Edna (Davis) Dotson and Roy B. Dotson.

Anne grew up with six brothers and sisters in Mount Judea. She always had a love for Jesus from a young age. She met James H. McPherson in March 1949, and they married on December 29, 1951. They moved to Akron, Ohio where their daughter Susan was born in 1952 and their son James Alan was born in 1954. Anne and James moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1955 where their son John was born in 1955. They raised their children in the Kansas City area until 1969. They decided to buy a farm in Buffalo, Missouri and moved the family there in the fall of 1969. On August 29, 1974, Anne and James’ son in law Terry Asher was killed in a car wreck. Anne and family gave their hearts and lives to Jesus. Anne and James were active in their church, working and helping wherever they could. In 1976 James and Anne owned and operated EXCEL Pest Control. Anne along with other ladies in the church made and sold peanut brittle for their church. Anne made other candies and goodies for her family who told her she should make and sell candies for a living. She opened her Annie’s Candy Kitchen business and stocked stores in the Ozarks area. Throughout her life Anne was a very hard worker whether it was a job, raising funds for church, or making something with her own hands. James and Anne sold EXCEL Pest Control and closed the candy business and retired in 1998.They finally got to move to Arizona and the warm climate. Anne and James were active in their new church having garage sales, baking and candy making sales and other fundraisers to help their church. Anne and James loved traveling around Arizona and the other western states. They got to take trips overseas to visit Israel, South Korea, and Hawaii. In 2016 James passed away. In 2018 Anne’s daughter and son in law, Susan, and Doug, retired and moved to Arizona to take care of her. In March 2021they all moved back to Buffalo, Missouri.

Anne is preceded in death by her husband James, her sons John and James Alan, a son in law Terry Asher, her parents Roy and Edna, three brothers Jimmie, Ramond, and Russell, two sisters Eileen and Gelene. Survivors include her sister Edith Budro, sister in law Marti Jewell, daughter and husband Susan and Doug Butler, granddaughter and husband Susun and Shawn Fredenburg, grandson and wife Kevin and Amanda Hale, great grandson and wife Travis and Brittany Asher, great grandson Taylor Vineyard, great granddaughter and husband Nicole and Brandon Morelock, great grandson Max, great granddaughter Mackenzee, great grandson Samuel Hale, great great grandson Lee, great great grandson Abel, great great granddaughter Honey Vineyard, great great granddaughter Coraline Carr, great great granddaughter Haelynne, great great granddaughter Scarlette, great great grandson Roman, and many nieces, nephews, loved ones, church family and dear friends.

Heaven has gained a beautiful “angel”. We will all miss her dearly.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2024, at the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home, burial will follow at Church Grove Cemetery in Foose, Missouri. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
