An investigation into a suspicious vehicle parked in the road on UU Highway in Dallas County has led to the arrest of a Springfield man

An investigation into a suspicious vehicle parked in the road on UU Highway has led to the arrest of a Springfield man. According to the report, a Dallas County Deputy was checking on the vehicle near a low water bridge, and one of the occupants attempted to run and dispose of a handgun. After taking Michael Franklin into custody, it was discovered that he had a warrant for his arrest in another state. Franklin is also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held without bond in Dallas County.
