American Missouri Eagle Days will be taking place this Saturday in the Lake of the Ozarks area. This is the 23rd year for this annual event, which will take place Saturday from 9 a-m to 4 p-m. Eagle Days started in 1997, with the event attracting 651 participants. From 1500 to 2000 people now attend this event every year. The Dickerson Park Zoo will present two shows hourly on the half-hour in the Encore Lakeside Grill and Sky Bar. There will be a coloring and photo contest for kids, plus vendor booths and activities. Live Eagle Programs will be presented by the World Bird Sanctuary at 9, 10, 11, 12, 1, 2, and 3 at the Osage National Golf Resort. There will be scopes for viewing eagles in the wild at the Bagnell Dam River Access. Free hot chocolate will be available, as well as burn barrels. And there will be scopes for viewing eagles in the wild at Willmore Lodge. Organizers of the event say that, in addition to the many migrating bald eagles seen in the area during the winter months, there are several mated pairs and juveniles that reside in the Lake Ozark area year-round.
